That first month and I’m beginning to form. I’m so excited! I know something is happening because I have a few brain cells.
It’s week five, my heart is beating. I have a brain! What will I be? I have the ability to twitch and flinch and I’m starting to grow arms and legs!
Week six now and I’m starting to feel hungry.
Week seven and I can absorb nutrients.
Week eight and look! I have eyes! I can see! I have a mouth so I can talk! I have fingers and toes, cute baby toes!
Week twelve: now, I’m either a boy or girl, you tell me because I don’t know yet, I haven’t gone to school –
Week sixteen: I’m kicking and moving. Are you excited? Maybe I’ll be an actor up on stage, or a drummer in a band!
It’s week twenty and I look like a normal baby! I have just a bit of growing left. I can’t wait for you to see my pretty eyes and eyelashes! Mommy, Daddy, I love you.
It’s week twenty-four Mommy. My skin is wrinkly but it will be baby-soft soon. One more week and I’m coming! Is my room ready? Are you ready for me?
I’m here! I’m ready to learn! Teach me about God and how I came to be. Teach me about my life, good and bad. I want to grow with your love!
What will I be? A doctor, nurse, vet? Will I be a salesman, house owner, a teacher? Could I be a missionary, pastor, or councilor?
Mommy, Daddy, tell me why my best friend didn’t make it past nine weeks. Mommy, Daddy, tell me why my sister wasn’t there when I needed her. Mommy, Daddy, tell me why that doctor wasn’t alive to save that child’s life.
Tell me why no one is there for the lost. Tell me why no one is there for the needy. Tell me why my spouse, who God created for me, was never born.
Tell me why –
Thank you for giving me my life as you were given yours.
